I apologize for the lack of posts - it's been a very busy 6 or 7 weeks for me and the situation will continue until at least the middle of this month. In the meantime, here is what I can share:
My dad and I travelled to Los Angeles in mid-December to retrieve the remainder of Bill's things. (A picture of us at the end of our 2,800 mile drive.) The good news is that all of the Optimax equipment is in a safe location on the east coast. This allows me to catalog the equipment and to try to get it placed in a museum. Unfortunately, the volume of the 3-D and Optimax information is daunting. I probably have 18 months to 2 years of work ahead of me.
Also included in the items we brought back were thousands of slides. As with the pictures I had to work with earlier, the slides will be scanned and published in a second photo book. Finally, there are files of personal writings and Optimax clippings/business documents. In the future, Bill's writings will appear as posts.
Although all of the cataloging is time consuming it is worthwhile since I learn little things about my brother every time I have the opportunity to work on these projects. I hope you are all well and I hope that as we near the first anniversary of Bill's death you will be more willing to share your thoughts and memories.
