ICKY THUMP

On June 19, 2007, The White Stripes - the band Bill mentioned in almost every music discussion we had during the last few years of his life - released their latest CD, Icky Thump.

I have not actually had a chance to listen to the entire CD but the reviews that I have read make it sound like a classic. I am sure that Bill would have had a lot to say about it. And it would have been great to speak to him last week since I was celebrating my third year of remission from Hairy Cell Leukemia. So, my music share for today is obvious - it's the title track from "Icky Thump".

Mike Groob forwarded this photo over the weekend (as always, thanks Mike for your contribution). Here's the history behind the photo from Mike:

"I just came across the attached Polaroid shot of Bill. If memory serves me correctly, I took the shot some time in the eighties. As you know, when Bill first moved to LA he stayed with me. The sofa he was sitting on was a rollaway and I'm pretty sure that's where he slept. This was in the first apartment I had in LA."
